The Forensic CPA Society confers the designation of FCPA upon individuals meeting the standards of the Society. These individuals are Certified Public Accountants (CPAs).

FCPAs are trained to not only utilize their accounting and auditing skills, but also use their investigative skills to determine what events actually took place in a financial setting.

Requirements to receive the designation include:

• Licensed CPA (or another country's equivalent)
• Possession of the CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) certification OR
• Successful completion of an examination
• Member in good standing of the Society
• Completion of at least 20 hours of Continuing Education every year
