FAQ

Not receiving Meeting notices

If you are not receiving meeting notices, please check the following list of most common causes first:
1. The email is not correct in the FICPA records (go to their web site and be sure yours is
correct)
2. Your ISP is putting them in spam or blocking entirely (check for this, you should be getting
almost daily mailings from the FICPA, if not, you need to put their email address on your "white
list" chapmeet@ficpa.org)
3. You aren't a member of the South Dade Chapter (again, check your profile online)
4. You have elected not to receive any email from the FICPA (check your online preferences,
you may have been upset sometime in the past and clicked on "remove from email lists").

Would you like to be one of our Speakers? This is what we need from you:

Please provide information at least 4 weeks prior to the meeting

For the newsletter:

1. 100 word maximum speaker brief bio

2.  Presentation title and 3 or 4 bullet points highlighting talk benefits for our members

Other information

  • The monthly meeting is held from 5pm to 8pm, and we serve dinner at 6:40 pm. We are there from 4:30 to handle registration and speaker set up.
  • CPE presentations are 5:00-5:50, 5:50-6:40 and 7:10-8:00
  • We have a projector and screen available to be used for your presentation. However, you will need to provide your own laptop if one is necessary for your presentation.
  • Our attendees appreciate a handout so they can follow along. You will need to bring these with you if you decide to use.
  • Attendance has averaged 55 with a range last year of 40-77. A better attendance estimate is usually available the day before the meeting (Tuesday).
  • Be sure to register and obtain a CPE form if you are a CPA and will be remaining for dinner (no charge of course) and the other CPE presentation(s).
