E-Mail Policies
Some suggestions for inclusion in an e-mail monitoring policy:
The system belongs to the employer; employees should have no expectation of privacy
The system should be used only for work-related business
The employer may conduct monitoring of system activity
Downloading or passing along offensive materials is against policy
Executable files (programs) may not be downloaded or read into the system without written permission from the system administrator
The transmission of confidential information or trade secrets is prohibited without written authorization
Violation of any policies will result in disciplinary action, including possible termination
